I thought my picture turned out pretty well, and I can't tell you how many times I panicked when I lost my driver's license, because I didn't want to have to get a new photo...I think I even cried once. One time I lost it in the drive thru at my bank, a couple days later it was sent to me in the mail with the name and number of the guy who found it, he wanted "to get together sometime". That was pretty creepy!!
I hate getting pictures taken, and I am definitely not looking forward to my photo shoot at the DMV (I've even been practicing smiles!!). I haven't looked like this picture in a long time, but I don't know that I'll want to look like the one I take tomorrow either...YIKES!! Wish me luck, I don't want to carry around an ugly picture for the next ten years!! Is it normal that I am THIS stressed out!!?
I wish the DMV photographer would at least give me best out of three... :P

Cute Katy, I know I have to go get mine done too, probably all of us... how funny is that. Mine got done when we got married and my picture is really cute except for I have long hair, and I want to keep it. How sad is that. If I had a scanner I would show you, but I don't.
How is Dan's knee doing? Staff is scary.

Lori, I wish you had a scanner, you had long hair is high school, but now I can only see you with your short hair (which I think is super cute by the way)! Dan's knee is healed, and I'm pretty sure Ellie's is almost there too...it has been a LONG week!!
Sothea, I'm worried!! What do the knew driver licenses look like? I think Utah has changed their DL at least four times since I last had mine.
Oh my gosh... now that you mention it, mine expired on my b-day, too! I guess I'd better head over to the DMV. I get my hair cut on Saturday, so I HAVE to wait until then. Hope I don't get pulled over!
Meagan, don't you have to pay more money and/or take a test if it is already expired? I got my hair cut on Wednesday, so I'm ready for my close up!! :)

AMEN! I was sad when I had to renew mine last summer... My previous picture had been really good, but they wouldn't let me keep it. However, she told me to lie on my weight if I wanted to...what's the difference? Oh, and the day I went was a day that was perfect and sunny, until I went to get my kids out of the car...then it began raining torrents and when she took my picture she'd just asked me a question--so it's a lovely photo... Your picture is so dang cute, I can see why random strangers would be sending your their phone numbers!
I went today, and I asked for a re-shoot!! I totally wasn't ready for the first one, and it was UGLY (I looked stoned!!). He asked if the picture was okay (I thought well, I better speak up now...), so I said no, and he said we could re-take it!! YAY!! So, it definitely isn't a glam shot, but it is TONS better...PHEW!!
So are you going to post your new picture on your license when it comes. You do have a pretty decent picture though. Mine alway turn out bad.
Maybe in ten years!! :P
Katie you are a treat! I love the old one you should just ask if you can keep that one like cut and paste! Hey I need to talk to you about your sling project.. I know you have had about 50 million people ask, but I need the pattern I have like another 60 million friends having babies and that would be such a good gift! I just found some really cute fabric too! Will you help me please???
I just got my new license in the mail. They used my same picture, but the card is now red and not blue. Also my new one makes me look very orange, and my old one didn't so i still carry around my expired one because the pic actually looks like me. I'm sure your picture will turn out cute can't wait to see it.

Katy- Your posts are awesome. You need not ever fret..you are a beautiful women that should never worry about a bad picture! I was in my work scrubs..hair up in a bob and that's not even the worst of it. Crazy times when you forget to get it done on time and have to run in after work one day to be legal. They give you a couple months to get in there though.

ahhhh Katie,,, I am sure you will take a beautiful picture. OR OR OR , , , , , you could do what I would be tempted to do and that would be make some really ugly face, or evil bug eyes or something like that. THEN maybe they will let you keep your old license. =)
I still have my license from when I was 16, they did not take it from me. actually, I have my license from California as well, they just punched a hole in it or something, lol. I should post a picture on my blog,,, hummm, I will have to chew on that one. lol
